It’s too much graphic design
“It’s too much graphic design” is what Karel Martens would say about pretty much everything that you & me designers do.
With this workshop I am learning that behind everything we decide to do, there has to be an idea that is clear. Everything you do around this idea has to serve it, otherwise you must get rid of it. And you must not become litterary. It is design to the essence of things and ideas to their simplest expressions.
It is something I knew but it’s something hard to do…
Will I modify my methods to become a better designer who works “the dutch way”? It’s processing in my mind and I guess a lot of things will change in the near future.
